Mark has extensive power sector experience in varied organisational and country settings. He has held CEO, company director and team roles whilst undertaking energy policy development; power sector reforms; water service and municipal service planning and delivery; power project development; power plant operations; renewable asset management; and the development and execution of commercial business strategies. Mark is committed to the energy transition and enjoys building innovative solutions to the great challenge of our times.

Nathan Steggel
Founder and Director

With over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, Nathan has a track record of originating, developing, partnering and financing project portfolios valued at many billions of dollars across Australia, Canada and South Africa. Nathan was previously a technology inventor and company co-founder at Windlab, where he led legal, technical, insurance and financial due-diligence activities that ensured numerous projects secured finance and progressed through construction and into operations. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys singing in Canberra’s indie-pop choir, Mixtape Chorus.

Patrick Miller
Project Engineer

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Engineering R&D from the Australian National University. He was a member of the university solar car team, worked on research in motor controllers and metrology for a CubeSat telescope. Before joining Aratherm, Patrick worked as an electrical engineer on a gold mine.

Llew Reilly
System Developer

Llew has recently graduated from the Australian National University with bachelor’s degrees in Mechatronics Engineering and Computing. Before Aratherm, his work at a windfarm developer involved using machine learning to reduce the time to build windfarms and understanding curtailment causes. Llew is passionate about technological innovation that drives decarbonisation.
